The Jessica Lauren label was established, when the talented designer, Jessica (Lauren) Young, moved to regional Victoria, and found a need for a custom couture service in the area. Jessica studied at RMIT University in Melbourne, where she graduated with Distinction in a Bachelor of Arts (Fashion). Her tailoring skills and attention to detail flourished during her studies at RMIT, and she developed a real passion in this area. Soon after graduating, Jessica spent a time working for Toni Maticevski, where she gained invaluable insight into the workings of a small, designer label. At the same time, Jessica had started a small Women’s wear label of her own, selling her designs in boutique stores across Melbourne. In 2006, Jessica began work at renowned bridal boutique, Izaro Haute Couture, in Hawthorn. It was here that she discovered her niche in the fashion industry. The bridal market enabled her to spend the time giving attention to intricate detail that she so valued in her role as a designer. Designing and creating bridal gowns also provides Jessica with the opportunity to use the most exquisite fabrics available to achieve the high quality, beautifully constructed gowns that she is renowned for.

The custom couture service means that Jessica is able to realise her design ideas without the compromises of a mass produced label.

In 2009, Jessica and her husband returned to the Yarrawonga area to start their own family. Since returning to the country, Jessica has built a loyal customer base and hopes to continue to grow her business. The success of the Jessica Lauren brand is based on Jessica’s friendly, personal and professional service.

Whilst the bridal industry gives Jessica the scope to explore her design concepts, her commitment to deliver high quality construction and fit is a vital part of all her work.
